Terms of Service

Subdus generates English subtitles from a video on a page you point it at, and can overlay them on the original page through a Chrome extension. Transcription and translation are fully automated — jobs aren't manually reviewed before you get a result.

You're responsible for having the right to submit a given page for captioning — whether it's your own content, something you have permission to caption, or otherwise lawful for you to process in your jurisdiction. Don't submit content you don't have the right to caption.

Transcription and translation are automated and can be wrong — names, technical terms, accents, and background noise can all produce inaccurate captions. Subdus is provided as-is, with no warranty on caption accuracy. Don't rely on its output where a wrong caption could cause harm.

Sign-in is handled by Clerk. Free accounts get a limited number of minutes per month; Pro accounts get more. Pro is currently activated manually by the operator after a VietQR or bank-transfer payment — there's no automatic billing, renewal, or refund system.

Job output (captions, extracted media, and related metadata) is stored on our server and may be deleted automatically after a period of inactivity, when you delete it from your dashboard, or at our discretion (for cleanup, abuse, or account closure). Don't treat Subdus as long-term storage for your videos or captions.

Don't abuse the service — for example, with excessive automated submissions outside normal use, attempts to bypass plan limits, or content that's illegal to possess or distribute. We may suspend or close accounts that violate this.

We may update these terms or the product itself as it evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
